Preschool
Welcome to Territorial Early Childhood Center's Preschool!
We are a fully inclusive preschool program, serving children three to five years of age. Our curriculum is based on Early Learning Standards, and helps prepare our district's littlest learners for academic and social success!
During our day, students are immersed in lessons in Reading, Math, Science, Writing, Social Studies, Music, Art, peer interactions, and gross motor skills. Students with developmental delays are able to access speech, occupational, and physical therapies in class, as well as receive support in cognitive, self-help, and social skills.
Our rooms are designed for optimal learning experiences and a lot of fun! We play to learn, and our teachers are the most wonderful group of creative, nurturing, and loving professionals. We maintain the highest standards of safety, and our ratios are well under state requirements.
We can't wait to meet you and learn with you!
Screening
The Chino Valley School District offers free screenings every 45 days for children between the ages of 2 years 9 months and 5 years of age, that are not yet eligible for kindergarten. Children are screened for cognitive skills, vision, hearing, speech/language, motor, adoptive, and self-help skills. Children that do not pass are scheduled for further evaluation. Children that pass the screening, are toilet trained, and 3 years old prior to September 1st, are eligible to be a tuition-based peer model. Tuition is pro-rated monthly at $250.00, with a one-time registration fee of $50.00
To schedule a screening, call TECC at the number at the bottom of this page.
Evaluations
Comprehensive Developmental Evaluations are conducted to determine preschool eligibility for present levels of performance and to assist in placement decisions made by the Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation Team.
The evaluation team consists of state and/or nationally certified caring professionals. One or more of the following team members may evaluate your child.
School Psychologist
Speech-Language Pathologist
Occupational Therapist
Physical Therapist
Audiologist
Vision Specialist
Peer Models
Children that pass the screening, and are toilet trained, may be eligible to be a tuition-based student. Tuition slots are based on classroom availability and your child's ability to be a positive role model for children that have special needs. Peer models have the advantage of interacting with a diverse group of children, which will benefit them socially and educationally. Our classrooms serve multi-aged children with many different ability levels. All children benefit from the learning opportunities provided in a caring and loving environment, based on each child's unique qualities.
